The Data and Discourse Studies programme examines the relationship between language, knowledge and society. The aim is to impart methodological competence in dealing with digital research data in the humanities and social sciences. These research data are primarily linguistic and visual data – texts and images. In view of the ever-increasing amount of data, there is a growing need for methods that not only measure and categorise the data but also explain and interpret it.
