Course Overview

This degree programme links management research and theory in a unique way by combining practical specialisations with interdisciplinary theory relevant to different professional fields. In addition to soft skills, students acquire skills to apply the theoretical teaching in practice in case studies and projects. The programme (120 ECTS) covers a standard period of study of four semesters and consists of seven core courses (35 ECTS), eleven electives (55 ECTS) and the Master's thesis (30 ECTS). While the core courses ensure the teaching of the holistic perspective of management, the electives enable students to specialise in one or more application areas of management. The chosen specialisation serves the students to sharpen their profile with regard to a desired future professional field. Within the seven core courses, four courses within the area of "management foundations", one course within the area of "finance and controlling" and two courses within the area of "case studies, projects, presentation & team skills" have to be completed. In the eleven elective courses, students can choose courses from the following content areas: strategic management & International business, value creation & digital transformation, entrepreneurship & innovation, financial management, health care management, marketing management, supply chain management, sustainable & responsible management, management research, and organisational behaviour & human performance management. If at least four modules (20 ECTS) from one content area are taken, the specialisation will be shown as a focus in the degree certificate. Students who prefer to engage in a general course of studies and do not want to specialise have the possibility to choose the complete 55 ECTS of the electives freely. Minimum Qualification: For admission to the Master's in Management programme, it is necessary to pass an admission test, which is intended to show whether the applicant has the required prior knowledge for the Master's in Management programme. As an alternative, the GMAT (General Management Admission Test) with at least 600 points in the total score or the GMAT Focus Edition with at least 565 points in the total score can be submitted. In addition, achievements in the Bachelor’s programme, practical experience and stays abroad act as selection criteria. The selection criteria are: Academic achievements from the Bachelor’s degree programme Business or comparable relevant work experience (Points for work experience can only be awarded if appropriate evidence has been submitted by the deadline. This evidence must include the period of employment, the exact hours worked per week, and a description of the duties performed. Work experience is measured in full-time equivalents. Accommodation

The cities of Erlangen, Fürth, and Nuremberg offer a very good standard of living. They are popular places to live, meaning that accommodation is in high demand but often in short supply. This is particularly the case during the period before the start of a new semester. We therefore recommend that you start looking for accommodation as soon as possible. If you are flexible and also look in the surrounding area, you will have a better chance of finding somewhere affordable to live. The region has an excellent public transport system, so you should not have any problems getting to your place of study or work. It is worth checking the available accommodation on the Internet every day, as new accommodation becomes available on a day-to-day basis. It pays to be flexible when it comes to the price, location, and available facilities of your accommodation. Student Services Erlangen-Nürnberg runs its own student accommodation in Erlangen and Nuremberg. You will be informed about how to apply for a room in Student Services accommodation while you are in the process of applying to be admitted to FAU.
